NORFOLK, VA.-- The Old Dominioni University Lady Monarchs and Lady Monarch Pridewill join forces with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and area hospitalsto sponsor a Cookout for the Cure on Sunday, Oct. 12 at ODU's Whitehurst beachat 2 p.m.
The event will feature Lady Monarch Head Coach Wendy Larry and the 2003-04 LadyMonarchs. Tickets are $40 and include a door prize ticket, two drink tickets,live entertainment, and a menu featuring seafood, barbeque, side dishes, anddesserts. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Komen Foundation Tidewateraffiliate.
Tickets are available at the ODU Athletic Administration ticket office at683-5484, and Chesapeake Health, Obici Hospital, Riverside Health System,Sentara Cancer Services, Sentara Virginia Beach General and Curves forWomen. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Thursday, Oct. 9.
