Penn took the lead in the ninth minute on an ODU own-goal when theball deflected off a Monarch defender and bounced past keeper Chuck Connelly (Rockville,MD). The Quakers held the 1-0 lead at the half, though Old Dominion hadblasted seven shots to Penn's three.
In the second half, Tooley tied the game with a blast off the rightpost off an assist by junior forward Tommy Barnicle (Liverpool, England). The strike wasthe freshman's eighth of the season.
Tanner later recorded the game winner as he carried for 20 yardsbefore blasting the shot past Penn keeper Michael O?Connor. The goal was Tanner?s 14th of theseason.
For the game Connelly recorded four goal saves, while the Monarchsoutshot the Quakers, 12-7, and registered more corners, 8-4.
