Ronnie Drumwright ran track and field for the Norfolk Division from 1955-58. He set five school and Little Eight conference records in track and field in the mid-50's while running for ODU Hall of Fame coaches Scrap Chandler and Lou Plummer. He won the 1957 conference title in the 880, with a record time of 2:03.08 (indoors).

Drumwright repeated the title in 1958, breaking the record with a time of 2:02.3. In outdoors, he was undefeated in the 880 the entire season. He set both the school and Conference records, and repeated the title again in 1958 with a record time of 1:59.5.

Drumwright anchored the 1958 championship mile-relay team in the conference meet.

He helped lead the Baltimore Olympic Club to the Gold Medal in the club two-mile relay at the Millrose Games in Madison Squad Gardens. He also ran cross country for the Norfolk Division and served as co-captain of the school's first team in 1955. After graduation Drumwright worked for the Army Corp of Engineers and then Tidewater Construction where he retired in 1998. He and wife Pat currently reside in Virginia Beach. Drumwright graduated with a degree in engineering in 1958.
