Patrick Downey was a three time All-American sailor for the Monarchs, and was an instrumental part in the third place finish at the 1995 ICYRA Team Race National Championships.

Downey now is a resident of Miami, Florida where he is now the Executive Director at the US Sailing Center Miami.
