Pat McMahon coached the Monarch baseball team from 1990-94, with a 189-86 (.687 winning percentage) during that time.  He led the Monarchs to a pair of NCAA regional appearances as well as the 1994 CAA Championship while earning CAA Coach-of-the-Year accolades.

While numerous players were drafted, Wayne Gomes was the fourth overall selection in the first round of the 1993 MLB draft while Jeff Ware was selected in the sandwich round in the 1991 draft by Toronto.

Both played in the Major Leagues. McMahon went on to become the head coach at Mississippi State and Florida, and has spent the last eight seasons in the New York Yankees organization. He lives in Gainesville, Fla., with his wife, Cheri, and their two children.
