NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men's golf is set to host the 16th annual ODU/OBX Intercollegiate at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, North Carolina this Sunday through Tuesday. The course at Kilmarlic has a par of 71 and is 6,578 total yards.
The three-day tournament will have split-tee starts for each round. For the first two days, the field will tee off between 8:30-10:36 a.m., and for the final round golfers will go off between 8-10:06 a.m. Live stats will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
There will be 15 teams playing in this year’s Intercollegiate. In addition to ODU, the field will include Drake, East Carolina, Georgetown, James Madison, La Salle, Longwood, Murray State, North Dakota, Queens University of Charlotte, Robert Morris, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's, Tennessee Tech, and William & Mary. Duke will also have individuals competing.
The Monarchs’ lineup will consist of Roman Roth, Jakub Sutor, Joe MacPherson, James Page, and Quin Covington. ODU will also have three individuals in Heath Stout, Vertti Hamalainen, and Garret Cameron. Old Dominion’s lineup will be paired with Drake and JMU for Sunday’s opening round and will tee off from the first hole between 10-10:36 a.m. ODU’s individuals will play alongside individuals from Duke, JMU, and ECU and will start on the 10th tee between 8:30-8:48 a.m.
Last year’s ODU/OBX Intercollegiate adjusted its format to two days of 27 holes in order to avoid inclement weather. Alumni Cullen Campbell was the top performer for the Silver and Blue as he tied for 33rd with a seven-over par 220. As a team, the Monarchs combined for a 54-hole total of 894 (+42) to place 13th.
William & Mary captured last year’s team title with an even score of 852. Georgetown took second place with a seven-over par 859, and Longwood came in third at nine-over 861. W&M’s Eli Felty secured individual medalist honors with a four-under 209, edging Georgetown’s Carson Erick by one stroke. Maryland-Eastern Shore’s Andreas Roman rounded out the top three with a one-under 212.
