MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Old Dominion women’s golfers Julia Colombier and Tereza Fialová finished tied for 31st and tied for 33rd at the University of Richmond’s Spider Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Independence Golf Club.
“We are proud of the way Tereza and Julia handled a difficult course and challenging conditions this week,” said Associate Head Coach Rachel Johnson. “Very happy for Tereza who shot her lowest collegiate round on Monday. It was a great experience and lots to build as we get ready for the spring season.”
A first year from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Colombier carded an opening round of five-over par 77 on Monday morning and then followed with a second round of 80 in the afternoon. She then turned in a final round of 79 on Tuesday for a 54-hole total of 20-over par 236.
Fialová, a first year from Rohatec, Czech Republic, shot a three-over 75 for her first trip around the course, then added rounds of 82 and 81 for a final tally of 238 (+22).
Florida Atlantic and the host Spiders both went 15-over par with a pair of 879s to share the team title, with Longwood placing third at 30-over 894. FAU’s Tina Genoulaz was the individual medalist at one-under 215, while teammate Maria Jose Cardona Estrada tied for second with Richmond’s Carter Bransford at two-over 218.
