NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion sailing wrapped up four events over the past weekend and notched two second place finishes.

“Across the four regattas, the star performance was Levente [Levay] and Emily [Priest’s] resounding division win at the CNU Webb William Regatta,” said ODU Head Coach Mitch Brindley. “Levi has struggled in the short-course, double-handed college-style racing, but it is great that he is figuring it out. Overall, the team has a lot to work on in the next four weeks. Our speed and boat handling are solid but starts have been subpar at the biggest regattas.”

Old Dominion finished in second place at the Charleston Fall Regatta ahead of Clemson, Jacksonville, and William & Mary. The host, College of Charleston, took home first place.

ODU finished in second place at the CNU Webb William Regatta and just missed out on first place by four points. NC State came in first with 37 points followed by the Monarchs with 41.

Virginia Tech came in third, followed by the Merchant Marine Academy in fourth, host school CNU placed fifth, UVA earned sixth, the Merchant Marine Academy had a second boat finish in seventh, and Hampton and Delaware finished in eight and ninth, respectively.

The Monarchs also competed in the Oyster Bowl hosted by Georgetown and the Open ACC Round One hosted by Navy. Old Dominion finished in sixth place at the Oyster Bowl and 16th at the Open ACC Round One. Navy finished in first at the Oyster Bowl with 153 points and Charleston captured first at the Open ACC Round One.
