NEW ORLEANS - Old Dominion’s Lewis Rourke has been named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
ODU went 2-0 this past week, the Silver and Blue dispatched Radford, 7-1 on Monday night and defeated Bucknell, 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Fourth year forward Rourke has tallied 11 points through five games this season from four goals and three assists. The Nottingham, England native scored a goal and provided two assists for four points against Radford. Rourke followed up that performance by scoring another goal against the Bison in the 78th minute.
Rourke’s form to start the season has also put him near the top of the national leaderboards. He is tied for fifth in the country in total points (11), tied for 12th in Division I in total goals (4), tied for 21st in total assists (3), and tied for 26th in shots on goal per game (1.75).
ODU has one game remaining in its five-game homestand and will take on UMBC on Friday, September 11 at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Jeff & Billye Chernitzer Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony
The 2026 Jeff and Billye Athletics and Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony is set for Friday, Sept. 25 at Chartway Arena.
Forward Tim Hopkinson will be honored along with four other inductees. Hopkinson was a semifinalist for the prestigious MAC-Hermann Trophy and won the fan poll. He earned Second Team All-American honors after finishing the 2013 season as the nation’s 11th leading scorer and ranked 15th in total points. He ranks fourth in ODU men’s soccer history with 33 career goals, third with 85 career points, and ranks seventh all-time with 19 career assists.
