KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Old Dominion men’s soccer remained in the United Soccer Coaches at #23 in the sixth poll of the season, the association announced on Tuesday afternoon. The Monarchs are also ranked #20 by TopDrawer Soccer.
ODU suffered a setback last time out at Georgia Southern on Friday, September 27 to fall to 8-2 and 0-2 in the Sun Belt. ODU head coach Tennant McVea is in his third season at the helm of the Monarchs and secured the 20th win of his coaching career against William & Mary on Tuesday. ODU has had 13 different goalscorers and has outscored its opponents, 31-13.
The Monarchs’ 31 goals and 3.1 scoring offense are both good for third in the nation. The Monarchs have racked up 85 total points and a +18-goal differential to rank fourth best in Division I. Old Dominion averages 8.5 points per game which ranks seventh best in Division I. ODU has an average of 7.6 shots on goal per game and has provided 23 assists to rank ninth and 11th in D-I, respectively.
