NEW YORK – Old Dominion defender Serena Langendoen earned her second BIG EAST honor of the season, as she was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Langendoen scored twice in ODU’s 5-1 win on Sunday over St. Louis, knotting the score at one in the first quarter and later adding an insurance goal. She was also part of a defensive effort that held the Billikens to four shots.
That defensive effort stayed the following day, as the Monarchs defeated William & Mary, 2-0 in Williamsburg. Langendoen gave ODU a 1-0 lead late in the first frame.
Langendoen and the Monarchs are back in action on Friday, Oct. 2 at Liberty.
