NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s soccer heads to Boone, North Carolina for an SBC matchup against App State on Sunday, September 27 at 1 p.m.
Sunday’s contest against the Mountaineers will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available.
LAST MEETING:
The Monarchs hosted the Mountaineers on Saturday, September 13, 2025 and played out a 1-1 draw. Both sides couldn’t find the opening goal in the first half where ODU outshot App, 10-2. Brooke Edwards opened the scoring in the 75th minute but App’s Kyli Switalski found a late equalizer in the 86th to split the points.
ABOUT ODU:
Old Dominion has an overall record of 3-5-1 and are 2-1-1 in its last four matches. The Monarchs defeated Maryland, 2-0 and ULM, 1-0 and most recently drew Louisiana, 0-0 at the ODU Soccer Complex.
ODU has a +1-goal differential through eight games played and has conceded nine goals. The Monarchs average 8.9 shots per game and a 38% shot on goal percentage.
Hannah Morgan, a third year forward from Mullica Hills, New Jersey, leads the Monarchs in points and goals. She has scored four goals to tally eight points and has a shot on goal percentage of 82%. She ranks tied for sixth in the SBC in goals (4) and goals per game (0.5) while ranking tied for ninth in the conference with an average of one point per game.
Riley Mullen, a fourth year forward from Staten Island, New York, is tied for second on the Monarchs in points and ranks first on the team with three assists. Her average of 0.5 assists per game is tied for first in the conference and her three assists are good for fifth in the SBC. Mullen averages 2.33 shots per game which ranks tied for eighth in the conference.
Madison Telmer has scored two goals and provided one assist for five points and is tied for second on the team in points. She scored a game-winning goal against Maryland in ODU’s 2-0 victory on September 3. First year forward Reese Kulha has opened her collegiate scoring tally in ODU’s 1-0 win over ULM and also provided one assist earlier in the season for three points.
ODU has split time between two goalkeepers. Ellie Goodrich has made five starts and appeared in seven games. She has three shutouts, made 15 saves, and has a 75% save percentage. Goodrich earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after recording a shutout in ODU’s win over the Warhawks. Emily Earles has also seen time in net, she has made four starts and seven saves. Earles has recorded one clean sheet against Maryland in ODU’s 2-0 victory over the Terrapins.
ABOUT APP:
The Mountaineers have an overall record of 7-1-2 through 10 games and are 2-0 in SBC action. The Mountaineers opened their season with a 3-0 loss to UNCW but are unbeaten in their last nine games and have a record of 7-0-2. App defeated Georgia State, 1-0 in its first SBC matchup and defeated Louisiana Tech, 2-0 on Thursday night.
App averages 1.8 goals per game and concedes an average of 0.7 goals against per game. The Mountaineers have a +11-goal differential and average 14.9 shots per game with a 39% shot on goal percentage.
App State has two players with double-figure points tally, Ellie Garrison leads the Mountaineers with six goals for 12 points followed by Libby Bermingham with five goals and one assist for 11 points. Olivia Simon and Lucy Harrington round out the top point leaders with seven and six points, respectively. Hayden Petrick has four points and leads the Mountaineers with four assists
Hanna Skogsfors has started every game in goal for the Mountaineers and has made 21 saves while having a 81% save percentage and four shutouts.
