NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s soccer takes on Louisiana on Thursday night at 6 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex. The Monarchs are aiming to get off to a 2-0 start in Sun Belt Conference action.
ODU’s game against the Ragin’ Cajuns will be streamed to ESPN+ and live stats will be available.
LAST MEETING:
ODU fell to Louisiana, 2-1 on Friday, October 17, 2025 in Lafayette. Miku Kurihara opened the scoring in the 20th minute thanks to an assist by Sisley Stephens. ODU’s Koto Davis answered back in the 50th with assists going to Ashley Economopoulos and Hannah Morgan to level the game. But, UL’s Carson Glenn scored the game-winning goal in the 64th minute off an assist from Sophia Moore to take the three points.
ABOUT ODU:
The Silver and Blue improved to 3-5 and won its first game of SBC action, 1-0 against ULM last Friday in Monroe, Louisiana at Brown Stadium. The Monarchs have also beaten Longwood, 3-0, and Power Four opponent Maryland, 2-0.
ODU has a +1-goal differential through eight games played and has conceded nine goals. The Monarchs average 9.1 shots per game and a 36% shot on goal percentage.
Morgan, a third year forward from Mullica Hills, New Jersey, leads the Monarchs in points and goals. She has scored four goals to tally eight total points and has a shot on goal percentage of 82%. She ranks tied for sixth in the SBC in total goals (4) and goals per game (0.5) while ranking tied for ninth in the conference with an average of one point per game.
Riley Mullen, a fourth year forward from Staten Island, New York, is tied for second on the Monarchs in total points and ranks first on the team with three assists. Her average of 0.5 assists per game is tied for first in the conference and her three assists are good for fifth in the SBC. Mullen averages 2.33 shots per game which ranks tied for eighth in the conference.
Madison Telmer has scored two goals and provided one assist for five points for the joint second leading point tally on ODU. She scored a game-winning goal against Maryland in ODU’s 2-0 victory on September 3. First year forward Reese Kulha has opened her collegiate scoring tally in ODU’s win over ULM and also provided one assist earlier in the season for three points.
ODU has split time between two goalkeepers. Ellie Goodrich has made four starts and appeared in six games. She has kept two shutouts, made 13 saves, and has a 72.2% save percentage. Goodrich earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after recording a shutout in ODU’s win over the Warhawks. Emily Earles has also seen time in net, she has made four starts and seven saves.
ABOUT UL:
Louisiana has gotten off to a 7-2-1 start in their first 10 games. The Ragin’ Cajuns picked up their first Sun Belt Conference win on Sunday with a 3-2 win over Coastal Carolina in Lafayette. UL is currently on a three-game win streak.
The Ragin’ Cajuns have a +16-goal differential and average three goals per game. They average 14.8 shots and have a shot on goal percentage of 48%. Louisiana’s opponents have a 51% shot on goal percentage and score an average of 1.4 goals per game.
Kurihara has 21 points to rank first on UL through 10 games played. She has scored nine goals and provided three assists. Glenn ranks second on the Ragin Cajuns with 16 points from six goals and four assists. Addison Soehn and Maiya Clark rounds out UL’s leading scorers with six and five points, respectively.
Natalie Mayes has made nine starts in goal for UL and Ally Allen has made six appearances as well. Mayes has 585:00 minutes in net and has 25 saves, Allen has 306:52 minutes in goal and a save percentage of 82.4% while making 14 saves.
