NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s rowing announced its 2026-27 rowing schedule, ODU head coach Brian Conley announced on Monday afternoon.
“This year's race schedule is definitely challenging and includes a good number of ways to measure our progress throughout the year,” said ODU head coach Brian Conley. “I’m looking forward to getting the team on the race course and challenging ourselves for the 2026-2027 season.”
The Monarchs compete in 10 races across eight months. ODU’s first race of the fall season takes place on October 11, 2026 when ODU travels to Fairfax, Virginia for the Occoquan Chase held at the Occoquan Reserve.
The Silver and Blue will be back in Fairfax on Halloween for the Head of the Occoquan on the Occoquan Reservoir. Last season, the Monarchs captured five medals and competed in nine events.
ODU’s final race of the fall season will be held in Earlysville, Virginia. The Monarchs compete in the Rivanna Romp on November 8, 2026 at the Rivanna Reservoir. Old Dominion returns for the Romp for the second-straight season and goes against some of the best teams in the nation.
Old Dominion starts back up again in the month of March, the Monarchs will gear back up with a scrimmage against George Mason in Norfolk, Virginia on the Lafayette River on March 13.
ODU’s first official regatta in the spring season will be the Sarasota 2K on March 26. The race will take place at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
The Monarchs return to the 757 for a regatta against Temple, High Point, and Jacksonville on April 3 on the Lafayette River. ODU hosted High Point and Temple last season on the Lafayette and will welcome Jacksonville to the 757.
ODU is back in action one week later on April 11 for the Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on the Cooper River. The Monarchs had three boats make it all the way to the final round of the Knecht Cup last season.
The Monarchs are back on the Lafayette River on April 17 to match up against the Delaware Blue Hens.
On April 23-24 ODU competes in the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina, the event is held on Lake Wheeler. Last season at Lake Wheeler the Monarchs had to shift their line-ups and were trying to manage some injuries but got good preparation for the BIG 12 Championships.
The Big 12 Championships will be held in Sarasota, Florida at the Nathan Benderson Park on May 16. The Monarchs finished fifth in the Championships last season and defeated Kansas State.
