NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women's golf is back in action this weekend as the Monarchs travel to Greenville, South Carolina to play in the 52nd annual Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman on Sept. 18-20 at Furman University Golf Club.
The three-day tournament will have 10 a.m. shotgun starts on Friday and Saturday and a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday. The course has a par of 72 and is 6,439 yards in length. Fans will be able to follow along with live stats provided by Scoreboard by Clippd.
The tournament field will consist of 12 teams. The Monarchs and Paladins will be joined by Alabama, Augusta, Daytona State, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, High Point, Minnesota, Rice, Samford, and Xavier.
Making the lineup for the Monarchs are Puneet Bajwa, Ellie Johnson, Lucia Gonzalez, Barbara Car, and Darby Hancock. Additionally, first year Julia Colombier will make her ODU debut and compete as an individual.
Old Dominion is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Golfweek Fall Challenge on Sept. 6-8 to open its fall season. Bajwa led the team with a two-over par 215 to finish tied for 10th.
The Monarchs are playing in the Lady Paladin Invitational for the seventh time. ODU finished ninth at last year’s tournament with a final tally of 19-over par 883. Bajwa, a fourth year from Mohali, India, went four-under par with a score of 212 to finish tied for seventh. Also finishing under par was Car, who shot a three-under 213 to tie for 11th.
The team’s best outing at Furman was in 2022 when they placed second with a combined five-over 869. Alumni Leah Onosato recorded a six-under 210 to grab fourth place while Gonzalez tied for fifth with a four-under 212.
