NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s soccer takes on Liberty at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia on Sunday, September 13 at 1 p.m.

LAST MEETING:
The Monarchs fell to Liberty, 1-0 last season in Norfolk, Virginia at the ODU Soccer Complex. Liberty scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute from Ivy Garner that was assisted by Briana Myers. ODU outshot the Flames, 11-6 but both sides were tied with two shots on target.
ABOUT ODU:
The Silver and Blue are 2-4 through six games played and are coming off a 10-day break. Last time the Monarchs were in action they defeated Maryland, 2-0 in College Park on Thursday, September 3. This is ODU’s final non-conference game before gearing up to face ULM on Friday, September 18 at 8 p.m. in Monroe, Louisiana.
Hannah Morgan leads the Monarchs in total points and total goals with six points from three goals. Fourth year forward Riley Mullen opened her scoring tally against #2 Duke and has provided three assists to tie for second on the team. She is tied with fourth year midfielder Madison Telmer who also has five points from two goals and one assist. Fourth year defender Sydney Somers and fifth year midfielder Ally Richardson have each chipped in one goal apiece.
Fourth year goalkeepers Ellie Goodrich and Emily Earles have split time in net through six games. Goodrich has made three starts and appeared in four games and Earles has made three starts for the Monarchs and donned the gloves in ODU’s past two games. Goodrich has allowed four goals, made 11 saves, and kept one clean sheet. Earles has made six saves and kept a shutout against Maryland last game.
ABOUT LIBERTY:
The Flames are 4-0 at home this season and are 6-2-1 through nine games played. Liberty defeated James Madison, 1-0 on Thursday, September 10 at Osborne Stadium and is on a four-game win streak.
Liberty has three players each knotted at six points atop the team lead. Fifth year forward Halle Engle has scored three goals for six points followed by third year forward Margaret Garner with two goals and two assists for six points. Fourth year forward Avenley Monteith rounds out the top three with two goals and two assists for six points.
Sixth year goalkeeper Ainsley Leja has started seven games and made nine appearances in goal for the Flames. She has allowed six goals and made 25 saves for an 81% save percentage. She has logged 671:34 minutes in net and kept three shutouts.
