NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Football will open the 2026 season with a powerful tribute to Lt. Col. Brandon A. Shah, honoring his service, legacy and connection to the Monarch community when the Monarchs host Norfolk State on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 6 p.m. at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

The Monarchs will take the field in special Under Armour camouflage jerseys created specifically for the season opener. In a tribute that puts the focus squarely on Lt. Col. Shah, every jersey will feature “LTC Shah” on the back in place of individual player names.

These game worn uniforms will be made available for purchase during the game for $300, with all proceeds benefiting the family of LTC Shah. The link to purchase will be made available on Saturday.

Multiple camo items will be available at the ODU Bookstore later this week and on Kaufman Mall and inside S.B. Ballard Stadium on gameday.

The season opener will celebrate the strength and spirit of the Old Dominion and Army ROTC communities while honoring Lt. Col. Shah and his legacy.

The Monarchs kick off at 6 p.m. on ESPN+, with fans encouraged to be in their seats early.
