NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion men’s soccer faces Radford on Wednesday, September 2 at 6 p.m. with a chance to move to 4-0 for the first time since 2012.
Wednesday’s match against Radford will be streamed to ESPN+ and live stats will be available.
LAST MEETING:
ODU defeated the Highlanders, 1-0 on Sunday, September 1, 2024 in Norfolk, Virginia. The Monarchs found the only goal of the game in the 17th minute from William Arnesen thanks to assists by Lewis Redding and Timothy Ennin. Radford were outshot, 11-6, and ODU’s Michael Statham made two saves and recorded a shutout.
ABOUT ODU:
Old Dominion moved to 3-0 after defeating Lehigh, 3-0 on Friday night in the 757. ODU is off to its best start while under the stewardship of Tennant McVea. It is the first time ODU has started with a 3-0 record since 2012.
ODU’s Jason Purks leads the team with six points from three goals scored. Lewis Rouke has five points through three games played and has tallied two goals and one assist. First year defender Noah Dietze has scored goals in back-to-back games for the Monarchs and the 6-5 defender is a threat from set pieces. Jake Lane, Miguel Menendez, and David Chapman have each chipped in one goal each. Defender and dead ball specialist Ludovico Vicini has provided two assists this season, both of which were from corner kick deliveries.
The Monarchs are averaging 14 shots per game and have scored 10 goals through three games. The Silver and Blue have made six assists and taken 19 corner kicks.
ODU second year goalkeeper Alexander Aguilar has been picked to play in net in every game so far. He has conceded four goals while making six saves and keeping one shutout. The Manassas, Virginia native provided an assist in ODU’s first game of the season at George Washington for ODU’s second goal.
ABOUT RADFORD:
The Highlanders are off to a 1-1 start and got their first win of the 2026 season on Saturday against James Madison, 2-1 in Radford, Virginia. Radford opened their season at William & Mary and fell, 4-1 on Sunday, August 23. At the helm of the Highlanders is head coach Andy Cormack in his first year. He was elevated from associate head coach to the main man after spending the last three seasons with Radford.
Three Highlanders are tied with a team leading two points. Jackson Boreham, Hugo Roman, and Noel Zimbeva have each found the back of the net through their first two games. Bryce Paige and Gabriele Sellati have each registered one assist each.
Radford has a -2-goal margin this season and takes 11 shots per game with a shot on goal percentage of 46% and averages 4.95 shots on goal per game.
Ben Miller has started both games for the Highlanders in goal and has made seven saves while conceding five goals for a 58% save percentage. The fourth year goalkeeper from Highland, Utah has played a full 90 minutes in both games.

The 2026 Jeff and Billye Athletics and Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony is set for Friday, Sept. 25 at Chartway Arena.
Forward Tim Hopkinson will be honored along with four other inductees. Hopkinson was a semifinalist for the prestigious MAC-Hermann Trophy and won the fan poll. He earned Second Team All-American honors after finishing the 2013 season as the nation’s 11th leading scorer and ranked 15th in total points. He ranks fourth in ODU men’s soccer history with 33 career goals, third with 85 career points, and ranks seventh all-time with 19 career assists.
