NORFOLK, Va. – The rest of the Old Dominion men’s basketball 2026-27 regular season schedule is set as the Sun Belt Conference announced the league’s conference games on Thursday afternoon.
“We are excited with the release of our SBC schedule – in a conference that is so well-balanced and each game is so impactful to seeding for the tournament, there’s a clear vision of the challenge ahead. We are ready to work,” said ODU head coach Mike Jones, who is entering his third season leading the Monarchs.
The Monarchs will open conference play with a pair of road games at Marshall on Wednesday, Dec. 16 and at South Alabama on Saturday, Dec. 19. ODU then closes out 2026 at home against ULM on Thursday, Dec. 31, and the Silver & Blue then open the new year against Sun Belt newcomer Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Jan. 2.
Following the homestand, Old Dominion will play at Louisiana on Thursday, Jan. 7 and at Southern Miss on Saturday, Jan. 9. The Monarchs will be back in Chartway Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 13 for a midweek meeting with App State before making the drive to Harrisonburg, Virginia on Saturday, Jan. 16 for a TowneBank Royal Rivalry game at James Madison.
ODU returns to its home court on Saturday, Jan. 23 to take on Arkansas State, then rounds out the month with games at App State on Wednesday, Jan. 27 and Georgia Southern on Saturday, Jan. 30.
The Monarchs open February with home games against Georgia State on Wednesday, Feb. 3 and Georgia Southern on Thursday, Feb. 11. The team will then be at Coastal Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 13.
ODU and JMU will have another Royal Rivalry game on Wednesday, Feb. 17 in Norfolk, and the Monarchs continue their homestand versus Marshall on that Saturday, Feb. 20. Old Dominion will play at Georgia State on Tuesday, Feb. 27, and wraps up the regular season at home versus Coastal Carolina on Friday, Feb. 26.
The 2027 Sun Belt Conference Championship will be held on March 2-8 at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla.
Men’s and women’s basketball season tickets for the 2026-27 season will go on sale soon, and this year’s package will include the exhibition game versus VCU. Season ticket holders will have exclusive access to purchase additional tickets during a special pre-sale. More information will be released soon.
