NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s basketball opens its 2026-27 Sun Belt Conference schedule on December 19 against Southern Miss at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, as the Sun Belt announced the full list of matchups on Thursday. Official tip times are still to be determined.
Old Dominion hosts Southern Miss on December 19 at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Va. Last season, the Monarchs and the Golden Eagles battled in an overtime thriller which saw the visitors edge ODU by three points, 86-83.
The Monarchs go on the road to Monroe, Louisiana for a New Years Eve matchup against ULM. Old Dominion looks to get a win against the team who beat them in the Sun Belt Fourth Round matchup last season by a point, 68-67.
The Silver and Blue go to Ruston, Louisiana for the first time in 12 years to meet the Sun Belt’s newest member, Louisiana Tech on January 2, 2027. The Bulldogs finished last season with a 26-7 record and went 17-1 in C-USA games.
ODU returns to Norfolk for its first game at Chartway Arena in the new year to play Louisiana on January 6, 2027. ODU traveled to Lafayette last season and defeated the hosts, 72-61.
Old Dominion welcomes South Alabama to Norfolk, Virginia on January 9, 2027, at Chartway Arena. Old Dominion last saw the Jaguars on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Chartway Arena. ODU came away with an 82-59 victory fueled by En’Dya Buford’s 19 points.
ODU goes on the road for two-straight games, the first is in Boone, North Carolina against App State on January 14, 2027. The Monarchs won both matchups against the Mountaineers in the 2025-26 season. Last time in Boone, ODU won, 75-65.
The second of Old Dominion’s back-to-back road contests is in Conway, South Carolina to take on Coastal Carolina on January 16, 2027. The Monarchs and Chanticleers split the regular season series, 1-1. ODU defeated CCU, 73-60 in Conway but fell, 69-62 at Chartway Arena.
The Silver and Blue will return to Norfolk, Virginia to write the next chapter in the TowneBank Royal Rivalry on January 20, 2027, against James Madison. Old Dominion fell to the Dukes in the two games they played last season.
ODU welcomes Marshall for a matchup at Chartway Arena on January 23, 2027. The two sides split the season series last season. Old Dominion defeated the Thundering Herd, 84-82 in Norfolk in the Anne Donovan Classic but fell, 77-70 in enemy territory.
The Monarchs have their longest conference road trip next, with three matchups in a row in enemy territory. ODU heads to Atlanta, Georgia to play Georgia State on January 27, 2027. The Monarchs swept the regular season series against the Panthers last season, 2-0.
Old Dominion will go from Atlanta to Harrisonburg, Virginia for the second installment of the 2026-27 TowneBank Royal Rivalry. ODU faces James Madison on January 30, 2027.
The Silver and Blue finish its three-game road trip in Jonesboro at Arkansas State on February 3, 2027. Old Dominion met the Red Wolves last season, also in Jonesboro and fell, 84-55.
Upon returning to Norfolk, Virginia, Old Dominion will be able to get comfortable with four-straight home games next up on the docket. ODU opens the stretch with a game against Coastal Carolina on February 10, 2027.
The Monarchs face Georgia State on February 13, 2027, at Chartway Arena. ODU defeated the Panthers, 73-68 last season thanks to Simaru Fields’ 29-point barrage. Buford and Fields combined for 45 points in the winning effort.
Old Dominion takes on Georgia Southern for the first time in the 2026-27 season in Norfolk, Va. on February 18, 2027. Last time the two sides met in the 757 a double-overtime thriller took place. ODU defeated the eventual Sun Belt regular season champions, 84-82.
ODU’s final home game of the 2026-27 regular season will be against App State on February 20, 2027. Old Dominion will hold its annual Senior Day ceremonies prior to the start of the contest.
Rounding out the final two games before the Sun Belt Tournament commences are matchups at Marshall and Georgia Southern. ODU heads to Huntington, West Virginia on February 23, 2027.
The 2027 Sun Belt Conference Championship takes place from March 2-8 at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla.
