NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Football defensive tackle Chris Forbes was named to the Outland Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Tuesday. The Outland Trophy is awarded to the top interior lineman, offensive or defensive, in the country.
Forbes had a breakout campaign in 2025 for the Monarchs, leading ODU defensive linemen in tackles for loss with eight and totaling 30 tackles. He notched a pair of tackles for loss and recorded his first career sack in the bowl eligibility clinching win at ULM.
Forbes is one of 68 student-athletes on the list and one of 16 defensive tackles. He is one of three Sun Belt Conference players on the watch list, including James Madison offensive lineman Zach Greenberg and Marshall offensive lineman Jalen Slappy.
