NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion men’s soccer welcomes 15 incoming recruits to the 2026-27 roster, as Monarchs head coach Tennant McVea announced on Monday.
“I’m really excited about this new group of players,” said McVea. “The work that the staff have put in these past 12 months is shown in the caliber of player that we have added. There is a great mix of youth and experience, and we are really excited to see this group mix with our returning players.”
#1 Diego Camargo | Third Year | GK | Bogota, Colombia (Bethel University (Tenn.))
A native of Bogota, Colombia, Camargo is joining Old Dominion for his third year of eligibility. The goalkeeper makes his way to Norfolk after spending the past two seasons at Bethel University. The 6’4” goalkeeper has made 29 starts in his career, averages 2.63 saves per game, and has recorded 11 shutouts in his collegiate career.
“A transfer from Bethel University, Diego is an experienced goalkeeper who adds much needed depth in the position,” said McVea. “The Colombian is a fantastic shot stopper who can pick out players with his feet. A high caliber human being, Diego is a great addition to this group.”
#2 Jacopo Caprile | Second Year | D | Verona, Italy (Eastern Florida)
Caprile is a 6-foot-tall defender from Verona, Italy who spent his first year of eligibility at Eastern Florida. He made 12 starts in 16 appearances and scored one goal and one assist for three points. While in Italy he helped his team win the high school tournament.
“Jacopo came to us in the spring from Eastern Florida Junior College where he was a standout performer last year helping the team make the NJCAA D1 National Championships,” said McVea. “He’s a tenacious defender with fantastic leadership qualities. ‘Jac’ adds quality experience to our backline.”
#3 Ludovico Vicini | Third Year | D | Modena, Italy (Northeast Community College)
Vicini joins Old Dominion from Northeast Community College. He spent two seasons with the Hawks and made 40 starts in 45 games played. In his first season at Northeast the defender finished the season with 19 assists and two goals for 23 points. In his second year of eligibility he made 18 starts and provided four assists.
“Vicini is another mid-season addition this time from Northeast College,” said McVea. “‘Ludo’ is an attack minded left back with fantastic delivery. Ludo works hard to cover ground and has a great engine. A solid performer in the spring, we are looking for him to continue to grow this fall.”
#4 David Chapman | Fifth Year | D | Nottingham, England (Basford United)
Chapman is joining the Monarchs for his fifth year of eligibility after spending the last season at Basford United Football Club in Nottingham, England. The defender made 10 appearances for the Lions and provided one assist. He also played soccer last season at Nottingham University with two other ODU incoming recruits and won the British University and College Sports (BUCS) National Championship last season.
“A Nottingham University graduate, David is a high-quality left center back who has vast experience in the English lower leagues,” said McVea. “He is Dangerous on both sides of the ball with his aerial ability “Chapo” will bring a lot of experience to this group.”
#5 Noah Dietze | First Year | D | Hessen, Germany (SV Gonsenheim)
A native of Hessen, Germany, Dietze is making his way to Norfolk, Virginia for his first year of eligibility. He is joining the Monarchs after spending last year with SV Gonsenheim and TuS Hornau who are in the fifth and sixth tier of German soccer, respectively. He has played in 32 games in the Hessenliga and provided one goal and one assist in 2,671 minutes played, he also played in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar 28 times and scored four goals in 1,965 minutes.
“Noah joins us from SV Gonsenheim in Germany,” said McVea. “He’s a transfer center back and an extremely talented player with a high ceiling. The staff are excited to work with him over the next few years and believe he will be a tremendous addition to this squad.”
#6 Huw Dawson | Fifth Year | M | London, England (Bedford Town)
Dawson joins Monarch Nation from Bedford Town after previously being on loan at AFC Rushden & Diamonds in Northamptonshire, England. The right-footed central midfielder enters his fifth year of eligibility after making 49 appearances in the National League South and compiling 2,463 minutes of action. Dawson has also made two appearances in the National League South Playoffs and two appearances in the FA Cup. He is another incoming ODU student-athlete that attended Nottingham University and won the BUCS National Championship last season.
“Another Nottingham transfer, Huw is an extremely versatile player who again has a lot of experience in the lower leagues of English football,” said McVea. “Another player with an extremely high IQ, Huw is an experienced leader who knows how to play in big games.”
#10 George Maire | First Year | M | West Kirby, England (Flint Town FC)
Maire joins Old Dominion for his first year of eligibility. The native of West Kirby, England plays in the middle of the park and most recently applied his trade at Flint Town in the Cymru Premier League. He played 21 games across two seasons for The Silkmen and scored two goals. He has played 32 career games and made three appearances in the Welsh Cup and scored a goal and provided an assist.
“George joined us in the spring after a spell in the Welsh Premier League with Flint Town United F.C.,” said McVea. “The Liverpool native is a versatile attacking player who is very dangerous in front of goal. George got his feet wet this spring with the group and he will make a good impact at the D-1 level this fall.”
#12 | Mile Zivkovic | First Year | F | New City, N.Y. (Albertus Magnus High School)
Zivkovic enters his first year of eligibility and joins Old Dominion from Albertus Magnus High School. He played club soccer at Cedar Stars Academy for the Bergen U-19 team. He has participated in the MLS Next Cup, MLS Next Fest, National Academies Championships, and MLS Next Flex.
“Mile was our first signing of this class,” said McVea. “The New Jersey native had a standout club career with Cedar Stars Bergen and World Class FC. The Rockland County Player of the year at Albertus Magnus High School, Mile is a long and rangy forward who scores goals. We are excited to see how he contributes this season.”
#16 | Fraser Page | First Year | F | Brentwood, England (AFC Greenwich Borough)
Page is a first year defender from Brentwood, England and joins Old Dominion from AFC Greenwich Borough. He played in one game against Croydon FC and scored in the 74th minute in a 4-0 win.
“Fraser was the last addition to the squad,” said McVea. “A native of Brentwood, England, the staff got to see Fraser play multiple times over the past year. Fraser is an extremely hard working forward who creates a lot of good things for himself. He is a tireless presser of the ball and he will quickly adapt to the college game.”
#18 | Jason Purks | Fourth Year | F | Oakwood, Ohio (Northern Kentucky)
Purks is joining Old Dominion for his fourth year of eligibility from Northern Kentucky after playing 45 games over three seasons. He has made 31 starts and scored seven goals and provided four assists for 18 points. He was a Horizon League Third Team Selection this past season. Purks attended Oakwood High School and was named SWBL Player of the Year, District Player of the Year, Section Player of the Year, Ohio First Team selection, All-Region, and All-American selection during his high school career.
“Jason is a player we had seen a lot while playing for his local club Lionsbridge in USL2,” said McVea. “A transfer from Northern Kentucky University, Jason can play in multiple attacking positions. He’s an experienced college player and he adds a lot of maturity to the group. Jason had a fantastic spring and will continue to add goals and assists this fall.”
#19 | Jaykob Marquez | First Year | D | Far Hills, N.J. (Bernards High School)
Marquez makes his way to Norfolk, Virginia, after playing four years of varsity soccer at Bernards High School in Bernardsville, New Jersey. He registered 85 points across four seasons from 24 goals and 37 assists. In 2024-25 he scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists and had a career high 15 assists in 2025-26 to go with nine goals scored. He played club soccer with STA Soccer for STA U-19 in the ECNL.
“Another New Jersey native, Jaykob played his club soccer with STA,” said McVea. “A left-sided player who can defend and attack, Jaykob has a lot of qualities we really like. He is extremely dynamic and hardworking, and this will translate well to the college game.”
#20 | Matthew Moffatt | Fifth Year | M | London, England (Nottingham University)
Moffatt joins Old Dominion as a student-athlete in his fifth year of eligibility. He makes his way to Norfolk from Nottingham University in England, the midfielder is the third player joining Monarch Nation from Nottingham University and won the BUCS National Championship last season.
“Matthew joins us as a graduate student after completing his undergraduate degree at Nottingham University in England,” said McVea. “One of three incoming players from the University of Nottingham team who won the BUCS National Championship this past season Matthew is a no-nonsense central midfield player with a high game IQ.”
#25 | Logan Bugni | First Year | F | Fredericksburg, Va. (Mountain View High School)
Bugni joins Old Dominion from Mountain View High School as a first year forward. He plays club soccer at the Virginia Development Academy in the Mid-Atlantic region.
“Virginia native Logan joins us from the Virginia Development Academy,” said McVea. “A player we had tracked over a long period of time, Logan is a hardworking attacking player who likes to run at players. Logan is exactly the type of in-state player we want to recruit. He works tirelessly for the team and is a fantastic teammate.”
#28 | Tziyon Morris | First Year | D | Rochester, Minn. (Northwood High School)
Morris is a Rochester, Minnesota native who joins Old Dominion from Northwood High School for his first year of eligibility. Morris was named a high school All-American this past season with Northwood. He played two years of varsity soccer at Lourdes High School before joining Northwood and finished his high school career with the Huskies.
“Tyzion is a player we had tracked over a long period of time,” said McVea. “He’s a product of the Blackrock Northwood School in New York. Morris is a physical defender who can cover multiple positions. He is a player we see contributing over multiple seasons and we are excited to see him develop here with the squad.”
#29 | Max Graf | First Year | M | Denver, Colo. (Denver North High School / Colorado Rapids)
Graf joins Old Dominion from Denver North High School and the Colorado Rapids youth academy. Last season with Denver North the midfielder played in eight games, registered five shots, and 0.6 shots on goal. He played club soccer in the 07/08B ECNL Elite for the Colorado Storm Soccer Club.
“Colorado native Max joins us after a youth career spent with some of the top clubs in Denver,” said McVea. “Most recently, he played with the Colorado Storm. Max is a ball playing center midfielder with a good engine. He adds some good depth in midfield, and we are looking forward to seeing him develop on and off the field.”
