NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion men’s welcomes Elon to the ODU Soccer Complex for its 2026 home opener on Monday night at 6 p.m. ODU begins a stretch of five-straight home games that ends with a matchup against UMBC on Friday, September 11.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available.
LAST TIME OUT:
Old Dominion faced Elon on August 25 last season and neither side could break the 0-0 deadlock and the two sides split the points. Old Dominion finished the game with nine shots and one shot on target. The Phoenix took eight and registered three on goal.
ABOUT ODU:
The Silver and Blue dispatched the Revolutionaries, 3-1 on Thursday afternoon in Washington, D.C. ODU had 15 shots in its opening game of the 2026 season with eight on target. Lewis Rourke, a Nottingham, England native and a Preseason All-Sun Belt selection, got his scoring tally started with a brace in the nation’s capital.
Rourke leads the Monarchs with four points from two goals scored. Chicago native Jake Lane scored against the Revolutionaries in back-to-back seasons for two total points. Otu Bisong, Barrett Saul, and Alexander Aguilar have all registered one assist.
First year goalkeeper Aguilar made his first official start of his collegiate career against GW and played 90 minutes in goal. He conceded one goal and made one save while notching an assist on Rourke’s second goal last game.
ABOUT ELON:
The Phoenix got off to a 1-0 start after defeating VMI, 3-0 in Elon, N.C. at Rudd Field. Elon bombarded VMI’s goal with 26 total shots and nine on target on the night.
Elon had three goalscorers in their first game, Martin Kozak scored the opener, Dominik Renz netted the second, and Jahmir Flowers put the game out of reach. Kozak, Flowers, Oscar Tonidandel, and Henry Mertsch all made an assist.
Elon’s Drew Hartman made two saves in 90 minutes in net and recorded a clean sheet in the winning effort.
