NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Deputy Athletic Director Dr. Ron Moses has been named the Vice President and Director of Athletics at Robert Morris University. Since joining ODU in 2019, he has provided leadership and vision across student-athlete advancement, NIL and revenue-sharing initiatives, academic services, alumni engagement, and competitive strategy.
"Since arriving at ODU in 2019, Ron has been a driving force in this department, from building our NIL and revenue-share infrastructure to elevating student-athlete advancement and academic services," ODU Director of Athletics Dr. Wood Selig said. "His impact reaches beyond Norfolk too, through his national leadership with the NCAA Committee on Academics and Eligibility and the N4A. Robert Morris is gaining an outstanding leader, and while we'll miss him greatly, we couldn't be prouder to see him take this next step. Moses joins RMU after serving as Old Dominion's Deputy Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Advancement, Revenue Growth, and Competitive Strategy. During his time at ODU, he led major initiatives in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) strategy, revenue-sharing models, academic success, and corporate partnerships.
Nationally, Dr. Moses serves as Vice Chair of the NCAA Committee on Academics and Eligibility and previously served as President of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A). In these leadership roles, he has championed academic reform, expanded professional development opportunities for athletics professionals, and advocated for policies that prioritize student-athlete success and well-being.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Georgia, a master's degree in sports administration from Western Kentucky University, a master's degree in leadership and human resource development from Louisiana State University, and a Ph.D. in counseling and student development from Kansas State University.
