NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s basketball has announced that Grace Hunter join the Monarchs staff as an assistant director of sports performance.

“The opportunity to serve at ODU is an answered prayer; God’s hand was all over this process,” said Hunter. “To coach weight training under Coach Tim Socha and to work alongside elite sport coaches is a blessing not taken for granted. I respect Coach Delisha Milton-Jones’ trust that she has in God, which allows for an environment in the weight room that embodies each student-athlete holistically. The goal is to create opportunities for each person that enters the facility to discover, strengthen, and stand firm on their foundation by facing challenges daily.”

Hunter joins Old Dominion from Purdue after serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach last season. She is a former D-I student-athlete and played collegiate basketball at NIU and North Florida from 2019-25. Hunter earned three academic All-MAC honors and was voted as a four-time team captain.

She began working in strength and conditioning in 2023 at Northern Illinois and completed a year-long internship which included managing injured football players. Hunter then joined GForce Athletics in the role of an assistant strength and conditioning coach for middle and high school hockey players.

While at Purdue, she was the performance coach for the All-Girl and CoEd Cheerleading teams and assisted Softball, Dive, Women’s Soccer, and Track. She also worked hands on with men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and women’s tennis.
