NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University head women’s basketball coach DeLisha Milton-Jones announced that Natalie Gallant will be joining her staff as director of basketball operations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Natalie to the Monarch family,” said Millton-Jones. “Her organizational expertise, ability to build relationships across departments, and passion for elevating the student-athlete experience make her the perfect fit as we continue to build a championship culture at ODU.”
Gallant is joining Old Dominion from Northeastern where she worked as the Huskies’ director of basketball operations from 2023-26. She earned her Masters in sports leadership from Northeastern and her undergraduate degree from Gordon College. As a graduate assistant in 2023/24 she spent her first season with the Huskies as a graduate assistant coach and moved into director of basketball operations by the end of the season.
“I’m honored to join Old Dominion women’s basketball and be part of a program with a storied history of success,” said Gallant. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Coach D, our staff, and our student-athletes as we build a championship culture. I take pride in the structure and details that keep a program running efficiently, and I’m looking forward to bringing organization, consistency, and energy to the daily operations that help our program perform at a high level.”
She started her collegiate coaching career at Emerson where she was the team’s assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2021-23. She helped the team achieve the highest team GPA in NCAA DIII women’s basketball for two consecutive years and oversaw recruiting communications, evaluations, and campus visits. She has experience managing NIL initiatives and partnerships by coordinating opportunities for student-athletes within NCAA compliance laws. Gallant led alumni relations and event execution and facilitated a record-setting Alumni Day at Northeastern.
With the Huskies she operated as the right-hand to the head coach by integrating systems and workflows that prioritize efficiency. She also coordinated recruiting logistics, contributed to game preparation strategies, and was a part of a staff that secured a win over Power Four Boston College. Gallant joins Gee Lawler as incoming members of the Monarchs’ coaching staff. Lawler is joining Old Dominion after spending a season at Tarleton State as an assistant coach and recruiting director.
