NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion Volleyball Head Coach Fred Chao announced another addition to his 2026 recruiting class as the Monarchs have added Weronika Urbanska, a transfer from Weatherford College, a JUCO in Texas.

She joins fellow newcomers Abby MacMillan, Ashlyn Gent, Erica Duffy, Leilani Lawrence, Avery Thiessen, Emma DiRocco, and Atlyn Proctor.

"We are thrilled to add Weronika to Old Dominion Volleyball. She is a six-rotation outside hitter who brings power, skill, and size to the roster. Her international experience as well as her accomplishments here in the states will help her transition to the Sun Belt Conference. In addition, her explosive swing and tactical range will assist in making our offense more effective and efficient,” said Chao.

Why ODU?
“I chose ODU because of the genuine, positive energy I felt starting with the very first phone call. Connecting with both the coaches and my future teammates made me realize this was the culture I’ve been searching for. Knowing that the players have such high respect for the coaching staff only reinforced me in my decision.”
