NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s rowing heads down to Sarasota, Florida for the 2026 Big 12 Rowing Championship Presented by Allstate. The championship will take place at Nathan Benderson Park from May 15-17 hosted by South Florida.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. and will run until 5 p.m. each day. Old Dominion will meet up against BIG 12 opponents Kanas, Kansas State, UCF, and West Virginia.

The final day of the championship will be streamed on ESPN+ and live results will be available via the Regatta Timing website. Play-by-play will be handled by Lincoln Rose, color by Arch Bell, and the sideline reporter is Ansley Topchick. 

Last time out, Old Dominion competed at the Lake Wheeler Invitational hosted by North Carolina and Duke from April 24-25. ODU competed in nine races across two days at the regatta. 

This spring season the Monarchs competed at the Knecht Cup, faced High Point and Temple on the Lafayette River in Norfolk, and competed at the Sarasota 2K. Old Dominion reached a semi-final in the Monarchs’ 1V8+ boat at the Knecht Cup, the 1V8+ also finished second to Temple, and struggled on day one of the Sarasota 2K but found its form on day two.

ODU earned three selections to the For Stars Network Annual Watchlist. Molly Deegan, Monroe LaRochelle, and Makenzie Sourbrine were all selected out of a total of 196 athletes selected from 94 different programs. Old Dominion had the most selections out of the BIG 12, edging out Kansas’ two selections. Kansas State, Tulsa, UCF, and West Virginia each had one selection on the watchlist.

A Sip N/ Brew Food truck will be on site for the event, a merchandise tent will be open from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday and 8-1p.m. on Sunday. Ice will be purchasable for $7 and will include a 16 lb bag. Parking for the event will cost $20 for the weekend and West Shore Road will be closed on Sunday but will be available to park on Sunday.
