NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University men’s tennis added Ilias Worthington to the 2026-27 squad, head coach Dominik Mueller announced on Thursday.

A transfer from No. 69 Wichita State with two years of eligibility remaining, Worthington competed primarily in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots for the Shockers, posting a 7-16 singles record and a 16-10 doubles mark this past season. He also picked up wins over No. 31 Arizona State, No. 46 Oklahoma State, and No. 54 Nebraska. As a freshman, Worthington compiled an 18-13 singles record along with a 14-14 doubles record.

“I chose Old Dominion University because I wanted to be somewhere that feels bigger than tennis, a place where I can chase championships, build lifelong connections, and become the best version of myself every single day,” said Worthington.

“We are excited to add Ilias to our strong core of returners and fall signees to next year's team,” said Mueller. “Adding the top player from a ranked team speaks for the brand and strength of our program, but his passion for our program stood out most. Ilias has proven he can win against the best teams in the country and we can’t wait to further develop his tennis.”
