NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion sailing has had five sailors selected to the 2025-26 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association’s All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Monday. Gianna Dewey, Emil Body-Goldberg, Blake Goodwin, Cadence Goodnight, and Kristin Johnson were selected this year.

The ICSA All-Academic Sailing Team recognizes juniors and seniors who have participated as a competitor or alternate in seven regattas (2025-2026) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Dewey, a native of Bainbridge Island, Washington has competed in 44 regattas during her time at Old Dominion and 14 this season. She helped ODU finish second out of 14 schools at the Faye Bennett MAISA Women’s Singles event on September 13. 

A junior from Wilmette, Illinois, Body-Goldberg has competed in 24 regattas at ODU. This season he has competed in seven regattas during the fall season. Notably he helped ODU to a second place finish out of 16 schools at the Riley Cup hosted by Old Dominion.

Goodwin is a senior skipper from Yorktown, Virginia and has competed in 42 regattas while at Old Dominion. This season he has participated in 15 regattas and helped ODU finish third out of 14 schools at The Grant hosted by ODU.

A senior crew from Richmond, Virginia Goodnight has been involved in nine regattas this season. She has competed in 47 regattas across her collegiate career and this season her best performance came on April 11 at The Grant where ODU finished third.

Lastly, a senior crew from Woodbridge, Virginia Johnson has competed in 35 regattas during her career including eight this season. She helped ODU earn first place at the Diamondback Women’s Fleet Race hosted by Maryland on March 7.

Old Dominion’s women’s sailing team was selected for an at-large bid to the 2026 Women’s Fleet Race National Championship. The National Championship will take place from May 15-18 hosted by South Florida in St. Petersburg.
