ODU claimed its sixth-straight conference championship, including its fourth-straight in the Sun Belt Conference, on Sunday. The team only gave up one point throughout the tournament, as #103 singles player in the ITA, Kira Matushkina, clinched the championship win on court one. The Monarchs are 13-5 and on a four-match winning streak.
Tennessee is 13-9 after falling to LSU in the SEC Tournament last weekend. This is the 33rd time that the Vols have been selected to compete in the NCAA Tournament. Katrina Scott, Leyla Britez Risso, and Vanesa Suarez are ranked No. 10, No. 40, and No. 84 respectively in singles play, with doubles pairs Britez Risso and Catherine Aulia, Francesca Mattioli and Suarez, and Mattioli and Maeve Thornton ranked No. 19, No. 36, and No. 59 respectively. Scott and Britez Risso also earned SEC First and Second Team All-SEC respectively.
ODU women’s tennis is making its seventh straight NCAA appearance, going 4-2 overall in the first round of the tournament. The Monarchs had four straight first round wins from 2021-2024. In 2025, the team fell 4-1 to Florida Atlantic in the first round.
