MADISON, Miss. – Old Dominion men’s golf is still in 12th place following two rounds of stroke play at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. The tournament is being held at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi.
The Monarchs combined for a seven-over par 295 on Tuesday and have a 36-hole total of 20-over 596. Coastal Carolina leads the 14-team field with a nine-under par 567. James Madison moved from fifth place up to second with a second round of eight-under 280. The Dukes have a two-day total of six-under 570. Arkansas State rounds out the top three teams with a five-under par 571.
For the Monarchs, Kaijun Ma and Cullen Campbell are both tied for 33rd at four-over par 148. Quin Covington is next with a six-over 150 to tie for 43rd, Jakub Sutor is one stoke back of Covington and tied for 46th at seven-over 151, and Joe MacPherson is tied for 56th at 10-over 154.
Campbell had ODU’s best round on Tuesday with an even 72. Covington improved by four strokes for a second-round tally of 73, and Sutor shot a 74 for his second lap around Annandale.
CCU’s Max Bengtsson is the current individual leader with an eight-under 136, though A-State’s Jake Wallis is right behind him at seven-under 137 and ULM’s Louis Anceaux is third at six-under 138.
Old Dominion will be paired with Georgia State and Louisiana for Wednesday’s final round of stroke play. The Monarchs will tee off from the 10th hole between 10:45-11:21 a.m.
