NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s rowing gears up to compete in the 2026 Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday April 24-25. The event is co-sponsored by North Carolina and Duke.
The races will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, live results are available via the Regatta Timing website.
“We are looking forward to our final regular season regatta,” said ODU head coach Brian Conley. “This race will host some of the best crews in the country. It will be a great opportunity to line up against the best before we start preparing for our conference championship. Each boat will get the chance to race three separate races. So, each race will be its own stand alone and allow each boat to focus on one race at a time."
The Monarchs will take on Alabama, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Georgetown, George Washington, High Point, Kansas, Lehigh, Louisville, Miami, Navy, North Carolina, Oklahoma, SMU, Tulsa, Virginia, Villanova, and West Virginia at the regatta.
Three sessions will take place over two days of competition. The first session takes place on Friday at 9:30 a.m., the second sets off at 2:15 p.m., and the final session starts on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
The event will not be ticketed, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can access the regatta via the main entry to Lake Wheeler Park, there will be limited bleachers and spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Parking opens at 7 a.m., it will cost $20 per vehicle (credit card only) per day and allows vehicular access throughout that day. There are ADA parking and carts available to assist with getting spectators to and from the viewing area.
For fans, beverage service will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday and will be open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday. The primary viewing location will be at the deck, food will be available at the Tombachi food truck and Smokin’ Good BBQ will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday.
