POINT CLEAR, Ala. – Old Dominion women's golf is set to compete in this week’s Sun Belt Championship, which will be held at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, Alabama.
Held at Lakewood Golf Club, the Championship will include all 13 women's golf programs in the conference. The field will be playing the Dogwood course, which is 6,164 total yards and has a par of 72.
Beginning on Monday, the Championship will start with three days of stroke play with the top four teams advancing to match play on Thursday. Fans will be able to stream the tournament on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
The lineup for the Monarchs will consist of Barbara Car, Puneet Bajwa, Alina Shchepteva, Mariana Arronte, and Ludovica Girola. Car leads the team with a 72.24 stroke average and turned in five Top-10 outings, including a pair of runner-up finishes at Georgia’s Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on March 28-30 and at East Carolina’s Ironwood Invitational on April 5-7.
For Monday’s opening round, ODU will be paired with Arkansas State and will tee off from the 10th hole between 9:45-10:21 a.m. ET.
The Monarchs competed in nine tournaments throughout 2025-26 and posted four Top-10 finishes as a team. In the fall, Old Dominion took ninth place at Furman’s Lady Paladin Invitational on Sept. 19-21, finished second at College of Charleston’s Tot Hill Farm Invitational on Sept. 28-29, and came in third at the Lehigh Invitational on Oct. 25-26. ODU’s best finish during the spring season was at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, where the Monarchs ended up in ninth place.
ODU finished tied for eighth alongside A-State at last year’s Sun Belt Championship with a 38-over par 902. Lucia Gonzalez earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team after finishing in fifth place with an even total of 216. Bajwa was next for the Monarchs, tying for 10th place with a three-over 219.
