NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion sailing competes in the 2026 America Trophy hosted by St. Mary’s (Md.) in St. Mary’s City, Maryland this Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m. This is the conference championship regatta with winners moving on to the national championship.

The regatta will be held at the James P. Muldoon River Center near the Teddy Turner Waterfront. Teams are scheduled to report at 9 a.m., a competitor’s meeting will be held at 9:10 a.m., and the first warning will be issued at 9:45 a.m. On Sunday, April 19 the teams will report at 9 a.m. and the first warning will take place at 9:30 a.m.

Old Dominion will have boats competing in both the A and B divisions of the regatta. ODU will meet Christopher Newport, Columbia, Cornell, Fordham, George Washington, Georgetown, Hobart & William Smith, Kings Point, Navy, NY Maritime, Penn State, Princeton, Pennsylvania, St. Mary’s (Md.), Virginia Tech, Webb, and William & Mary.

Old Dominion’s sophomore skipper Marina Conde was named All-MAISA First Team skipper on Tuesday, April 14. A native of Palma, Spain Conde has sailed for the women’s sailing team in all eight competitions. She notably helped ODU secure a second-place finish in the ODU Women’s Team Race on Feb. 28. She also finished first in the A Division at the MAISA Spring Women’s Fleet Race Championship alongside crew Molly Hanson on March 28-29. 

The Monarchs are coming off a packed weekend where they finished third at The Grant, eighth at the MAISA Women’s Team Race Championship, and ninth at the Truxtun Umstead Open Fleet Race.

Depending on the results of the upcoming America Trophy regatta, Old Dominion could qualify for a berth to the national championship in Tampa, Florida starting May 15.
