ATHENS, Ga. – Barbara Car had her best collegiate finish as the sophomore from Vodice, Slovenia finished second at the 54th annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The three-day tournament was held at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

It marked the fourth Top 10 finish of 2025-26 for Car, who started off the Classic with a two-under par 70 in Saturday’s opening round. She then carded a three-under 69 on Sunday and followed with another round of 70 on Monday to finish at seven-under 209. Car was three strokes back of the individual champion, Georgia’s Trinity Beth, who posted a 10-under 206.

Car tied for fourth at the Golfweek Fall Challenge on Sept. 7-9, her previous career top finish, and tied for sixth at both the Tot Hill Farm Invitational (Sept. 28-29) and the Lehigh Invitational (Oct. 25-26). She made a total of 13 birdies over the three days in Athens and added 36 putts for par.

“I enjoyed my week in Georgia, and am happy with my performance throughout all three rounds,” said Car. “I’m excited for the upcoming tournaments at ECU and the conference championship. Always an honor to represent ODU.”

Puneet Bajwa was next for Old Dominion, tying for 34th with a 10-over par 226. The junior from Mohali, India posted a two-over 74 in the second round and bookended that effort with a pair of 76s. Alina Shchepteva also shot a 74 in the second round and finished tied for 56th at 15-over 231. Mariana Arronte tied for 72nd at 24-over 240, and Ludovica Girola finished tied for 76th at 27-over 243.

The Monarchs finished ninth in the team standings with a 31-over par 895. The host Bulldogs defended their course with an 11-over 875, Rutgers came in second place at 14-over 878, and Indiana took third with a 20-over 884.

Old Dominion will round out its regular season at next week’s Ironwood Invitational, hosted by East Carolina on April 5-7 at Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina.
