NORFOLK, Va. – Piet Steveker has been awarded Sun Belt Conference Singles Player of the Week for the first time this spring.
A junior from Wuppertal, Germany, Steveker went 3-0 last week against #70 FAU, Saint Joseph’s, and #42 Penn. He defeated FAU’s Luca Miremont (6-3, 7-6) on court six, Saint Joseph’s Sehaj Singh Pawar (6-3, 6-4) on court five, and Penn’s Vojtech Vales (6-4, 6-4) on court five.
Steveker transferred to ODU following two years at Louisville. So far, he has collected two SBC Doubles Team of the Week awards alongside Zech Harmouni, and is 12-3 overall this spring.
Old Dominion men’s tennis travels to North Carolina to face Georgia Southern on Saturday, March 28 and Elon on Sunday, March 29. Both matches begin at 12 p.m.
