NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion Men’s Tennis Head Coach Dominik Mueller announced the additions of Julien Doitteau and Dylan Varughese on Friday.

Doitteau, who’s originally from Paris, France is a transfer from Valdosta State where he is currently ranked Top 25 in Singles in Division II. He clinched last year's Division II National Championship for Valdosta State with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory in the championship match.

“Julien is a proven winner and has proven to deliver in high pressure situations (clinching the DII National Championship). But what stood out even more during the recruiting process was his maturity. He asked all the right questions and knew what he was looking for right from the start. We are thrilled to add a talent like him to our roster next year,” Mueller said.

“I’m proud to become a part of this team and looking forward to giving my best every day.” said Doitteau.

Varughese is from Houston, Texas. A five-star recruit, he is the No. 64 ranked recruit nationally and No. 3 in the state of Texas.

“Anytime we can add a top domestic recruit, we get even more excited about our program. But more importantly, Dylan showed his hunger for tennis and his excitement for ODU during the entire recruiting process and during his visit on campus. He is one of the best players from Texas, which has a massive talent pool for College Tennis. There is a lot of room for Dylan to improve, and we are excited to maximize that during his time here,” said Mueller.

“I want to join ODU Tennis for its diverse team, tight bond and electric atmosphere. I’m pumped to continue my athletic and academic journey here and can’t wait to join this amazing program,” said Varughese.
