NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s basketball takes on Delaware State on Monday, Dec. 1 at Chartway Arena.
Fans will be able to watch both games on ESPN+ with Chip Tarkenton providing play-by-play and Kim Aston adding color commentary. Matthew Hatfield and Shonda Deberry can be heard on Fox Sports Radio 1310 AM and live stats will also be available.

The Monarchs haven’t played the Hornets since Nov. 9, 2013 in a 97-67 victory for the Silver and Blue. Old Dominion ended the first half on a 29-9 run over the last 9:38 of the first half to take a 25 point lead into the locker room. Old Dominion’s bench outscored the Hornet’s, 33-7.
ABOUT ODU:
Old Dominion is coming off back-to-back losses against undefeated Power Four teams in the 2025 Women’s Hoopfest Challenge. Texas Tech (9-0) beat ODU, 67-42 on Tuesday and Oregon (8-0) defeated the Monarchs, 84-46 last Thursday. ODU was named to College Insider’s Mid-Major Top 25, coming in at the #20 spot. It is the Silver and Blue’s first entry into the Top 25 this season.
The Monarchs are tied for the second best shot blocking team in the nation, averaging 7.6 blocks per game. A large part of ODU’s success at denying shots is due to Coastal Carolina transfer Riley Stack who leads the nation with 27 blocks. Simone Cunningham (1.4 bpg), and Laila Walker (1.4 bpg) round out the top three shot blockers on ODU.
ODU has the 15th ranked offensive rebounding output in the nation (17.5) and are the 16th best in total rebounding (45.88). ODU ranks 47th in the nation with 11.9 steals per game. ODU shot 66.7% from the free throw line in the 2024-25 season and are shooting 75.5% this year to rank 57th in the nation. The Monarchs average 15 made free throws per game to sit tied for 61st nationally.
Old Dominion has one of the stoutest defenses in the country and holds opposing teams to 32.4% shooting from the field, which is good for 15th in Division I. The Monarchs defend the perimeter well too, holding teams to a shooting percentage of 24.8% to rank 40th in the NCAA. ODU forces an average of 21.88 turnovers per game to sit tied for 51st in the nation. En’Dya Buford has 20 steals this season which is good for 42nd nationally and Simaru Fields is right behind her with 19 of her own to rank tied for 50th in Division I.
ABOUT DSU:
Delaware State is coming off a 76-59 loss to Hampton on Monday, November 24. The Hornets are 3-5. Jazmone Turner is in her second season, in her first season DSU finished 5-24, 1-13 in the MEAC and fell to Howard in the MEAC Tournament.
DSU scores an average of 60.4 points per game but concedes 62.3 for a scoring margin of -1.9. The Hornets shoot 38.1% from the field and have held opposing teams to 37% shooting. Delaware State grabs 35.8 rebounds per game and gives up 40.5 rebounds against themselves for a -4.8-rebounding margin.
Mahogany Cottingham is the team's leading scorer (10.9 ppg.) and has started all eight games for the Hornets. Amya Scott is the second leading scorer (9.8 ppg.) but has come off the bench in all eight games. Ericka Huggins is the leading rebounder, grabbing an average of 7.3 rebounds per game.

ODU hosts Howard on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in a Mid-Major Top 25 clash at Chartway Arena. The Bison are 6-2 and are ranked 14th by College Insider. They fell 92-62 to Purdue this past Wednesday.
