NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men’s basketball continues its five-game road swing this Sunday as the Monarchs head to Williamsburg to take on the William & Mary Tribe. Tipoff at Kaplan Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Series History
ODU is ahead in the all-time series, 72-23, and has won four of the last five meetings. The Monarchs hosted the Tribe on Dec. 2 last year and came away with an 88-83 victory. Old Dominion had six players finish in double figures, led by Sean Durugordon with 24 points and eight rebounds. R.J. Blakney followed with 13 points and Stephaun Walker turned in a 13-rebound, 10-point double-double.

The Monarchs (3-5) traveled to Philadelphia this past week, falling 75-71 at Drexel last Sunday and 89-75 at Villanova this past Tuesday. Jordan Battle led ODU in both games. Against the Dragons, he finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and one steal. In the loss to the Wildcats, the Norfolk native scored 19 points with three boards, two assists, and three steals.
LJ Thomas is averaging 12.5 points and Battle follows with 11.6 ppg. Jared Turner (6.4 ppg) has made a team-high 15 three-pointers, Robert Davis Jr. (8.3 ppg) has 12 makes from beyond the arc, and Battle has hit 11 triples. Battle ranks second in the Sun Belt with 34 made free throws on 40 attempts and leads ODU on the glass with 45 rebounds (5.6 rpg). Thomas and Battle own 32 and 28 assists, respectively, and the pair have combined for 25 steals. Caelum Swanton-Rodger (7.4 ppg) is pulling down 4.8 rpg and has made a team-high eight blocks.
ODU enters Sunday’s game shooting 44.8% from the field, 34.6% from the perimeter, and 71.3% at the free-throw line. The Monarchs score 75.1 ppg, but are allowing 76.5 ppg for a -1.4-scoring margin.
About William & Mary
The Tribe (6-2) has won four in a row and is coming off a couple of wins over UTEP and Abilene Christian in the Jacksonville Classic. W&M defeated the Miners, 74-63 last Monday, then beat the Wildcats, 92-58 on Tuesday.
Reese Miller is the team’s top scorer at 12.1 ppg and Kyle Pulliam is also averaging double figures with 11.0 ppg. Cade Haskins (9.4 ppg) has knocked down 14 shots from distance, Miller is up to 11 made threes, and Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi (8.4 ppg) is at 10 threes. Kaleb Spencer (6.0 ppg) is grabbing 6.3 rpg, Kiliam Brockhoff (9.4 ppg) has pulled down a team-best 43 rebounds for an average of 5.4 rpg, and Chase Lowe (8.8 ppg) is third with 4.4 rpg. Lowe is second in the CAA with 28 assists, and Brockhoff is the conference leader in steals with 12 and the team leader in blocks with eight.
Through games played on Nov. 25, W&M led the CAA in scoring margin (+14.1 ppg), field goal percentage (49.9%), field goal percentage defense (38.8%), defensive rebounds per game (29.75), steals per game (9.5), and turnovers per game (16.50). The Tribe was also 14th in the nation in bench points per game (39.25), 18th in Division I in assists per game (19.5), and 26th in the country in fastbreak points (19.38). The team nets 86.1 ppg while holding opponents to 72.0 ppg and is also shooting 33.0% from long range and 71.2% at the line.
Head coach Brian Earl is in his second season with the program after spending seven seasons at Cornell. The Tribe was picked to finish fourth in the CAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll as Lowe earned Preseason All-CAA Second Team honors and Pulliam received an Honorable Mention nod.
W&M went 17-15 overall with an 11-7 mark in CAA play last season. The Tribe returned just one starter and seven letterwinners, including five seniors, from that 2024-25 squad and added eight newcomers, seven of them transfers.
