NEW ORLEANS - Old Dominion women’s soccer’s Gry Boe Thrysoe has been named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week after a two-goal performance against Troy and an undefeated weekend.
The native of Klarup, Denmark has taken a big leap this year. Entering the season with four career goals, she's scored four times through ODU's first 12 games. The graduate student has scored against #19 Georgetown in the first game of the season, one against Maryland, and her first multi-goal performance of her ODU career against Troy this past Thursday.
Old Dominion finished the weekend with a 0-0 draw against Marshall where Thrysoe bossed the pitch and was key to most of the good passages of play during the match.
ODU is 7-1-4, 3-0-3 in the Sun Belt and the Monarchs head to Statesboro to play Georgia Southern on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
