NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced on Friday afternoon that Old Dominion’s Puneet Bajwa has been named the league’s Women's Golfer of the Week.

A junior from Mohali, India, Bajwa was the top finisher for the Monarchs at the 51st annual Lady Paladin Invitational last weekend at the Furman University Golf Course, tying for seventh at four-under par 212. Bajwa opened the three-day tournament with a four-under par 68 thanks to three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 13th hole. She followed with a pair of even 72s in the next two rounds. The effort helped ODU to a ninth-place finish in the team standings.

Bajwa has now posted two Top-15 finishes in as many tournaments to start ODU’s fall season. She carded an even 213 to end up tied for 11th at the Golfweek Fall Challenge on Sept. 7-9 and owns a 70.83 stroke average.

This marks her second career weekly honor. During her freshman year, she was voted Sun Belt Women’s Golfer of the Week on Oct. 12, 2023 after placing second at the Evie Odom Invitational with a five-under par 205.

Up next for the Monarchs is the Tot Hill Farm Invitational, which will be hosted by the College of Charleston this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29-30 at Tot Hill Farm Golf Club in Asheboro, North Carolina.
