NORFOLK, Va. - ODU field hockey begins BIG EAST Conference play this week as they take on the Providence Friars on Friday, Sept. 19 at 2:30 p.m. at the Lennon Family Field.

ABOUT THE MONARCHS:
The Monarchs (2-4) are coming off a 7-0 win over Wagner on Friday. Serena Langendoen recorded a hat trick, and ODU goalkeeper Suus Broers made three saves on the night. Last Sunday’s match up against Richmond resulted in a 2-1 loss with Sian Emslie recording the lone goal for the Monarchs.
Josie Painter leads the Monarchs with 10 points with five goals, 12 shots, for a 41.7% shot percentage. She is tied with Emslie who also records 10 points for four goals, two assists, and 16 shots.
ABOUT THE FRIARS:
The Friars (4-1) recorded their first loss of the season to New Hampshire, 4-3 in overtime with Carly Van Benten, Florencia Talarico, and Bo Martina each recording a goal. Goalkeeper Ava Porter recorded eight saves for the Friars.
