NEW YORK, N.Y. - Old Dominion field hockey’s Serena Langendoen was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, while Josie Painter was named to the Weekly Honor Roll, the BIG EAST announced on Tuesday. 

A sophomore from The Netherlands, Langendoen recorded a hat trick in ODU’s 7-0 win over Wagner. She has four goals and one assist so far this season.

Painter recorded two goals in the 7-0 win against Wagner. She has achieved ten points for five goals on 10 shots this season.

The Monarchs will head on the road to begin BIG EAST Conference play against Providence on Friday, Sept. 19 in Providence, R.I. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start at Lennon Family Field.
