NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Football quarterback Colton Joseph was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Joseph was also named to the Davey O'Brien Award's Great 8 list.
Joseph completed 16-of-22 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns in the 45-26 win at Virginia Tech. He also rushed eight times for 63 yards and a touchdown.
The victory at Virginia Tech was the first in program history at a Power-Four opponent and third in ODU history against Virginia Tech.
Joseph is second in the country among quarterbacks with 97 rushing yards per game and tied for second with four rushing touchdowns. He has rushed for a touchdown in all three games this season.
Through three games, Joseph has completed 46-of-68 passes for 629 yards and five touchdowns. He tossed three touchdown passes in the win over North Carolina Central, and two more in the win over the Hokies.
