NORFOLK, V.A. - The Old Dominion field hockey team returns to L.R. Hill to host Wagner and Richmond in week 3.
ODU lost both games last weekend at the Tiger Invitational, falling to No. 10 Princeton 2-1, and Penn 4-2.
Both matches will be held at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex and LiveStats will be available for fans on StatBroadcast.
This match will mark the first meeting between the Monarchs (1-3) and the Seahawks (1-3). The last meeting with the Monarchs and the Spiders was Aug 30 2024 with ODU winning 3-0.
ABOUT THE MONARCHS:
Josie Painter leads the team in points, scoring three goals in the first weekend of play against VCU and W&M. She is followed by Cosima Perleth who scored two against W&M, as well as Sian Emslie who scored a goal against W&M and Penn. Goalkeeper Suus Broers has recorded 13 saves for the season with a save percentage of 60.9%.
ABOUT THE SEAHAWKS:
Wagner Head Coach Aubrey Mytych played at ODU from 2021-2023 and was a NFHCA All-Academic Honoree. Her Junior year she recorded nine goals in a six-game span, while her senior year she started in all 20 games, scoring three goals and three assists.
Wagner assistant coach Katerina Tsioles played at ODU from 2020-2024. A two-time BIG EAST honoree, she registered two goals and 24 assists in her career.
Natalie McGiven leads the Seahawks with three goals and five shots, she is followed by Floortje Leunisse with one goal, two assists and seven shots. Goalkeeper Saar van Dalen holds 22 saves for the season with a save percentage of 66.7%.
ABOUT THE SPIDERS:
Amy Stripling leads the Spiders with two goals with five shots. She is followed by Clara Larripa with one goal, one assist, Jess McMeeking one goal, one assist, and Valen Luna Paratore one goal, one assist. At goal for the Spiders Amanda Cimillo has recorded 14 saves for a save percentage of 58.3%.

The Monarchs will go on the road to start BIG EAST Conference play against Providence next Friday, Sept. 19 in Providence, R.I. That game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start at Lennon Family Field.
