NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion quarterback Colton Joseph has been named to the Manning Award Watch List, presented by the AllState Sugar Bowl, as announced on Thursday.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning.

Joseph completed 133-of-122 passes last season for 1,627 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also rushed for 647 yards and 11 touchdowns, tying for fourth in the Sun Belt Conference in rushing touchdowns and finishing seventh in the league with 72 rushing yards per game.

A native of Newport Beach, California, Joseph had two 300-yard passing games and two 100-yard rushing games. He passed for a career high 332 yards at App State and rushed for a career best 158 yards against Marshall.

Inclusion on the Watch List is not necessary for the quarterbacks to be selected for the honor. Transfers and other newcomers at schools were not eligible for the preseason Watch List, but additional quarterbacks will be added to the Watch List during the season. Finalists will be selected prior to the postseason and the winner will be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.
