LOS ANGELES - The Old Dominion women’s basketball team attended the Los Angeles Sparks vs New York Liberty Game at the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday, August 12 and enjoyed the afternoon in the Beverly Center.

The Los Angeles Sparks prepared a video to honor ODU head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones, it was played at the end of the third quarter and saw her take in applause from the hometown crowd.

At the conclusion of the game, Milton-Jones spent time outside Crypto.com Arena with Sparks fans signing autographs and taking pictures with a number of fans who were all thankful for her time spent in Los Angeles which included back-to-back WNBA Championships (2001,2002).

Prior to attending the game, the women’s basketball team enjoyed visiting the Beverly Center, a shopping mall located near West Hollywood. The team ventured through the eight-story shopping center and stopped at their favorite stores. The Beverly Center is referenced in pop culture by being the setting in a number of popular films like Volcano (1997), Selena (1997), and appears in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto V as the “Rockford Plaza”.

Old Dominion will practice at JR286, a practice facility that is also used by the LA Sparks. The team will hold an inter-squad scrimmage before heading back down town. After practice, the Monarchs head back to Hotel Indigo in Downtown LA and prepare for a team dinner at Spruzzo Restaurant and Bar.
