NEW ORLEANS - The Sun Belt Conference has announced the dates and matchups of the women’s basketball 2025-26 conference schedule, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

“Our schedule has the benefit of always being tough simply because we play in a great conference,” said ODU Head Coach DeLisha Milton-Jones. “ I look forward to seeing high level competitiveness every time we suit up against any Sun Belt team.”

The Monarchs have a three-game homestand to open the conference schedule, with Troy trekking from Alabama to Norfolk to play ODU on Wednesday, December 17. Old Dominion is seeking to avenge last season's 83-80 defeat at the Trojan Arena. Simaru Fields (26), En’dya Buford (19), and Fontana (18) combined for 63 of the Monarchs 80 points.

“Opening up our conference play with Troy will be a treat for Sun Belt fans,” said Milton-Jones. “Two great teams continuing a superb rivalry we started.”

ODU welcomes Georgia Southern to Virginia on Thursday, January 1. The two programs played each other twice last season. Both sides defended their respective home courts with ODU putting together a 68-66 win at the Chartway Arena and dropping a 86-79 defeat in Statesboro.

In the final game of the homestand, Old Dominion is playing the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday, January 3. The Monarchs are looking to redeem themselves after losing to GSU in the 2024-25 Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The Monarchs heads to Huntington, West Virginia, to take on Marshall in the Monarchs first road conference game. ODU meets the Thundering Herd on Wednesday, January 7. The Monarchs drew first blood against the Herd, defeating them 80-75 last season but lost 73-70 in overtime last time in Huntington.

Three days later the Monarchs will be in Statesboro for the second game against Georgia Southern. The game is slated to take place on Saturday, January 10. ODU leads the all-time series 5-1.

ODU returns to Chartway Arena on Wednesday, January 14 for a contest against the Mountaineers from App State. Last season the two sides split results and preferred their home environment. ODU defeated App 78-71 in Norfolk but lost 74-66 in Boone, North Carolina.

Marshall will face off against the Monarchs for the second and final time in the regular season when ODU welcomes the Thundering Herd to Norfolk. The game will take place on Saturday, January 17. Old Dominion leads Marshall 15-10 in the all-time series.

Old Dominion women’s basketball will go on the road to Jonesboro to meet the Red Wolves of Arkansas State. ODU plays the Red Wolves on Wednesday, January 21. The Monarchs hosted A-State in Norfolk last season where the Silver and Blue came out victorious 95-88.

ODU women’s basketball stays on the road and will heads to San Marcos to take on Texas State. Old Dominion is set to match up against the Bobcats on Saturday, January 24. ODU trails the Bobcats 3-1 in the all-time series but are 1-1 in the last two matchups.

The Monarchs meet the Warhawks as ODU returns to Chartway Arena to take on ULM on Wednesday, January 28. Old Dominion has played Louisiana Monroe three times in the all-time series with all three games going in the favor of the Monarchs. Last season, ODU defeated the Warhawks 72-68 in Monroe, Louisiana fueled by four Monarchs in double figures.

Old Dominion welcomes USM for a matchup on Saturday, January 31. The two sides faced off once last season, ODU dispatched the Golden Eagles 65-47 in Hattiesburg. ODU leads USM 8-4 in the all-time series. Last season ODU came away with an 18-point victory in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

ODU heads to Lafayette, Louisiana to match up against the Ragin Cajuns. The Monarchs meet LU on Wednesday, February 4. Old Dominion has taken on the Cajuns one time during the 2023-24 season.

The Battle of the Beaches awaits the Monarchs on its return to Norfolk, as ODU meets up with Coastal Carolina at Chartway Arena on Wednesday, February 11. Last season, the two sides met twice with each defeating the other on their respective home courts. ODU won 81-65 in Conway, and fell 80-77 in Norfolk.

The Monarchs are gearing up for this season’s edition of the TowneBanke Royal Rivalry in its final game at Chartway Arena. The rivalry between Old Dominion and James Madison is one where no love has been lost. Ironically enough, this year’s match will be played on Valentine’s Day. The two squads are set to meet on Saturday, February 14.

ODU rounds out the regular season with a four-game road trip, the first stop on it is Atlanta. Old Dominion plays Georgia State in enemy territory on Thursday, February 19. The Monarchs lead the all-time series against the Panthers, 21-3.

Next up is the Chanticleers from Coastal Carolina in the second matchup of the Battle of the Beaches. The Monarchs will be in Conway, South Carolina on Saturday, February 21. ODU leads the all-time series 4-2.

What is worse than seeing your arch nemesis on Valentine’s Day? How about being forced to see them again 11 days later. The second game of the TowneBanke Royal Rivalry is slated to take place in Harrisonburg on Wednesday, February 25.

The Monarchs finish off the regular season when they heads to Boone, North Carolina to meet up with App State on Friday, February 27. Old Dominion has played the Mountaineers eight times and holds a 6-2 all-time series lead.
