LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced the recipients of the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT, on Monday and Old Dominion has earned the award for the sixth straight year.
“I am proud of our team for their continued achievement in the classroom,” said ODU Head Coach Fred Chao. “They are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, and earning the AVCA Academic Award reflects their dedication as both students and athletes.”
To be eligible for the award, a program must maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale). As a team, the Monarchs combined to earn a 3.56 GPA for the 2024-25 academic year.
